The Licensing
Act of 2003 transfers the responsibility for licensing to local authorities, and
introduces a requirement for a Premises Licence (in addition to a personal
licence).
The act has 4
fundamental objectives: prevention of crime and disorder, promotion of public
safety, prevention of public nuisance & protection of children from
harm.
From 24th
November 2005 all premises serving alcohol, offering late night hot food, or
providing regulated entertainment will require a new licence.
